Property details

Situated in the beautiful historic town of Châteauponsac, in the Haute-Vienne department of the Limousin, this charming property enjoys lovely views across the Gartempe Valley, yet is just a two-minute walk from the town centre and its amenities.

One of the property's most delightful features is its beautiful enclosed stone-walled garden, surrounded by the grounds of the neighbouring château, creating a wonderfully peaceful and private setting right in the heart of town.

The Property

Built over a cellar and garage, the house offers a welcoming entrance hallway leading to a comfortable lounge, a separate dining room, a fitted kitchen, a shower room and a separate WC. Both the lounge and dining room feature attractive marble fireplaces, adding a lovely touch of traditional French character.

On the first floor are two generously sized double bedrooms, each benefiting from a small dressing room, offering excellent potential for conversion into en-suite bathrooms. There is also an attic space providing additional storage.

The Gardens and Outbuildings

Step outside and you will discover what really makes this property so special.

The 1,072 m² enclosed garden is an absolute delight, with mature flower beds, established planting and beautiful stone walls creating a charming and tranquil outdoor space. It is hard to believe you are just moments from the centre of town.

The property also benefits from a substantial two-level workshop, offering exciting possibilities for anyone looking for a creative space, home office or perhaps even a small studio apartment, subject to the necessary planning permissions.

And then there is the chicken shed! Although, quite frankly, calling it a chicken shed really doesn't do it justice. We think "The Chicken Château" is a much more appropriate name! This charming little outbuilding could equally lend itself to a home office, artist's studio or small workshop.

Additional Features

The property benefits from double glazing throughout, connection to mains drainage and central heating via a heat exchanger.
