Property details

Situated in a tiny hamlet, this lovely property, in excellent condition, is just outside the village of MAISONNAIS 18170 in the CHER department of CENTRE-VAL DE LOIRE. It has 8 bedrooms in total, 2 of which are on the ground floor, and consists of a main house, a separate gîte, a cute workshop, and nearly 2 acres of land with plenty of room for parking.

The main house has two bedrooms on the ground floor, each with its own bathroom. The well-fitted kitchen has a corner dining area, and the two reception rooms give space for both formal and informal areas, with the sitting room at the back of the house being equipped with a bar and sink, and leading to a decked terrace. A store room and a separate toilet complete the ground floor. Magnificent dual-sided staircases lead up to four bedrooms, one which is around 45m2 with a vaulted ceiling, making it ideal as a studio or a master bedroom suite.

The gîte offers a marvellous income opportunity, or options for extended family/guest accommodation. It has two characterful reception rooms, a fitted kitchen, a utility room and bathroom on the ground floor, and two bedrooms upstairs.

Outside at the front, electric gates open to a large, walled courtyard providing parking for many vehicles. There is a detached workshop, and a storage area behind the gîte. The decked terrace is the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the tranquility of this countryside location, and the 2 acres of attached land offer the possibility of keeping animals and growing vegetables, both of which the current owner has done in the past.

The village of Le Châtelet with its bar, supermarket, post office and weekly market, is only a 10-minute car drive away. Further services can be found in the charming small town of La Châtre (25 minutes), and the historic city of Saint-Amand-Montrond (35 minutes).

This large, flexible property is a unique opportunity to find a characterful house with a gîte in a superb setting.
